Purkha Divas April 5

Purkha Divas is observed on the 5th day of April. Nepalese believes that culture is in a flux or culturally what we are today is the sum total of the cultures of our ancestors. It is the beliefs and values of our ancestors that, in a large part, guide us today and this ever accumulating beliefs and values continue eternally. It is thus, on the Purkha Divas, we remember our ancestors visiting their graveyards, offering prayers, revisiting their works, burning incense sticks and candles etc. This has been dovetailed with the Nepali curricula and taught in the classroom and activities carried out.
